BIG EAST RACING RULES
(Racers and car handlers must read these rules and are bound to them regardless of if they have read them or not.)

1. All American Rules apply.
2. All cars will be inspected before race begins and must have inspection sticker on car before being allowed to race. Winning cars may be subjected to post race inspection.
3. Trail runs for first time drivers and newly constructed cars only. Trail runs will be started part way up the track.
4. Byes or warm up runs will not be run except for winner of winner (at their option).
5. No immediate family member racers will be pared in the first round.
6. No lubrications are to be used on axles or any part of the wheels after the start of race.
7. All cars will be tail weighted (full and dry) and marked prior to racing. Masters will be tail weighted with cockpit hatch open.
8. If you change your weight distribution, it must be done prior to being called for a heat. A race official must then re-verify the tail weight.
9. Two wheels will be swapped prior to first phase (both fronts or rears) as determined by the toss of a coin. All four wheels will be swapped prior to second phase. After second phase the other car ends up with your starting set of wheels.
10. No spinning of wheels after wheel swap, including between phases.
11. Cars will be weighted prior to first heat after wheels have been swapped. Winning car may be challenged to be weighted after heat. Verified dry tail weight may vary only +/- 2 pounds.
12. No loose articles are allowed in the car, except for clothing that was weighted with the car.
13. Lowered numbered cars will run first phase in Lane 1 and second phase in Lane 2.
14. No taping allowed on Stock and Super Stock drivers/cars in ramps (except for safety). Master division may use up to 6" max tape.
15. No touching wheels in ramps. Roll back required at discretion of starter, without touching wheels.
16. Bad start called by official starter is rerun in same lanes and with same wheels.
17 .No coaching beyond front of ramps. No spotting after car leaves the starting gate area.
18. Crossing the centerline with two wheels will result in a 10 second loss for that phase, if the other car is intimidated.
19. Any racer who hits the timer equipment automatically loses the heat. They will also be financially responsible for any damage.
20. Accident repair time allowed is 15 minutes past the time due at ramp.
21. No skateboards/roller blades in pits/staging run out, or near any cars.
22. STAY with your car. If not at scales/ramp within 5 minutes of being called, you will lose that heat.
23. In the interest of safety, the handlers at the bottom of the track will place a tire in front of any car which in their opinion is in danger of not stopping.
24. Refer all Problems to the rally director.
